Description

This workshop presents the Voicecraft approach to the assessment and treatment of common voice disorders, and teaches the essential skills in differentiated vocal tract control for the speech pathologist to use in the clinical setting. The workshop provides in-depth information, skill development opportunities and case examples of application of therapeutic processes that can be applied across a range of voice disorders and professional voice user populations. Voice physiology research, principles of motor learning, psychodynamic theory and clinical reasoning paradigms will be used to understand the nature of the therapeutic process for vocal change.

By the end of this workshop, participants will have acquired a range of motor skills in differentiated vocal tract control across a range of physiological cue-response paradigms and an applied understanding of how to facilitate vocal change in others. This workshop provides in-depth knowledge, skill development opportunities and case examples of application of therapeutic processes that can be applied across a general voice caseload.

There is opportunity for one-to-one and group development of specific vocal skills, in a safe, supportive environment. Real-life cases will be discussed throughout the workshop and participants are encouraged to bring their own cases to the workshop for discussion.
